Soliciting As indicated in the Code of the Village of Menands, Section 123, “No person or persons shall sell, offer to sell or expose for sale in any manner whatever any goods, wares, merchandise, perfumery, medicine, nostrums or any other article whatever, except milk and newspapers, in or upon any of the public streets, avenues, alleys or public places in the Village of Menands by hawking or peddling or at auction without first having obtained a license from the Mayor of said Village so to do.” Any person, or persons requesting a license are required to fill out the form below, following all instructions. Completed forms can be returned to the Village Offices during regular office hours. Application for Hawker & Peddler’s License Permits The Village of Menands issues Building Permits as a means of protection for property owners and residents. These permits are issued to ensure that contractors are properly licensed and bonded, work is compliant with building and life safety codes and appropriate building setbacks are maintained and property lines are not compromised. The Village also issues soliciting permits for speaking with residents about any topic.
