Village Tax and Utility Payments

Payments to the Village of Menands can be made online below, by mail, or in person at the Village Clerk’s Office located at 280 Broadway, Menands, NY 12204, Monday-Friday, excluding holidays, between the hours of 8:00 am and 4:00 pm.

Village Tax

Village taxes are due without penalty on June 30th, annually. Any tax bills that remain unpaid as of November 1st will be sent to the County and will appear on your Town of Colonie tax bill in January, along with an additional penalty.

Be aware of these dates even if your taxes are held in escrow and paid by the bank.

Water and Sewer Utility Bills

The Village’s water and sewer bills are issued twice a year, once in January and again in July, due the 31st of the same month. If the July bill is not paid by November 1, it will be added to January’s bill. If the January bill is not paid by May 1, it will be levied to the property’s village tax.

Regulations and Important Notices

Be aware that homeowners are responsible for all Village Bills and timely payment – even if they do not receive the bill in the mail; please call our office if your bills have not been received by the 10th of the corresponding billing month.

Villages are not authorized to “forgive” delinquent charges or penalties. Per state law, this would be considered a gift of public funds; please do not ask us to waive the late fees. If mailing in the payment, it must be postmarked on or before the due date to be accepted without penalty. If paying in person or using the drop box after hours, it must be submitted on or before the due date – if not, the payment will get returned, requiring a penalty.

Pay Online

As of June 1, 2021, we are offering ONLINE PAYMENTS via Xpress-Pay!

Our online payment platform includes credit cards, debit cards, and electronic check payments. Please note there is a site processing fee of 2.95% + $.40 for using a card and a $2.00 site processing fee for an electronic check payment. Xpress-Pay is a secure platform with the option to create a username and password, the ability to pay multiple accounts, whether it is for separate properties, water & sewer utility billing, or taxes, and see the current amount due (including penalty if applicable). This system also has an option to notify you when a new bill is due via text message or email. We are very excited to introduce ePayments to our residents and business owners as so many other communities already have.

Please Note: Processing fees are the account holder’s responsibility. Any processing fees associated with online payments are not received by the Village and are charged by the third-party vendor providing the service.
