TRASH SCHEDULE

REGULAR TRASH PICK UP (MONDAY / TUESDAY)

Trash may be placed directly in your trash cans or in

CLEAR or WHITE

plastic garbage bags.  Colored bags will not be collected.  Do not place trash curbside before 6 P.M. the evening prior to pick up.  We ask that you return the empty cans to your property in a timely manner.  If there is a Monday holiday, your trash pick up will be on the next day and there will be no special Wednesday pick up that week.

SPECIAL PICK UP

Starting April 1, 2026 to make Menands’ trash collection more efficient, we are reducing “Special Pickup” to a single day per month. Special pickup is for collecting larger items that do not fit in regular trash barrels.

APPOINTMENTS ARE NOT REQUIRED. We will travel the entire Village.

PROHIBITED ITEMS
• Televisions / Computer monitors
• Wet Paint or varnish (see website for recycling locations)
• Chemicals of any kind
• Medical Waste
• Propane Tanks
• Construction materials – anything larger than 1 barrel (Contractors are responsible for disposal when doing work)
• Tires

Special Pickup Dates (Beginning at 7:00am on the 2nd Wednesday of the month*)
*During a holiday in the week, Special Pickup is moved to the following week.

Holiday Trash/Recycling schedules

Monday Pickup

If there is a Monday holiday, your trash pickup will be Tuesday. There will be No Special pickup that week. Recycling will remain the regular schedule.

Tuesday Pickup

If there is a Tuesday holiday, your trash pickup will be on Wednesday. There will be No Special pick up Wednesday that week. Recycling will remain the regular schedule.

If there is a Thursday holiday, your recycling pickup will be Wednesday. There will be No Special pick up that week.

YARD WASTE PICKUP

Yard Waste Pickup is FRIDAY of each week. Except for February and March

We will not take tires, TVs, computers, propane tanks or hazardous waste materials.

If you wish to dispose of all appliance’s such as a refrigerator or stove, you must call and schedule the pick up a few days in advance.

When there is a holiday in the week, there will be No special pickup that week.

WEIGHT & SIZE LIMITS

Limit the weight of filled trash cans to approximately 40 lbs. for the safety of our crew.  Maximum allowable size of receptacles is 45 gallon.
