The renovations are complete at the new Village Boardroom at 250 Broadway in our main municipal building. We have improved the audio and video so everyone can attend in person OR online to participate in our municipal administration. Check the Village webpage, menandsny.gov, for links to our bi-monthly meetings.
The official project groundbreaking for the South End Infrastructure Project was held on September 24th at the Hutton St Park. This $17 million upgrade to our water and sewer infrastructure is long overdue. While this project will take 2 years to complete, these improvements will serve Menands for 50 years or more! Please be patient with our work.
I look forward to leading the Halloween Trunk-or-Treat parade for our annual kids’ costume party at the Menands Farmer’s Market Pavilion on October 19th. There will be activities for kids, and the parade kicks off at 2 pm. Kids should arrive by 1:45 pm to participate.
I was honored to participate in a Back-to-School outdoor movie night on August 27th at the Schuyler Inn. Ryan Graham from Altamont Programs helped put it together, and we watched Moana 2 with dozens of kids.
We are working with a prominent Menands-based business to expand here in our village. While I cannot share the details at this time, Deputy Mayor Tim Lane and I are constantly working to attract new business development in Menands. This will be a massive win for us, and I hope to announce the progress next month.
In the next 2 months, we will be launching the redesign of our Menandsny.gov webpages. The new format will be easier to navigate our pages and more visually appealing for our information and news. I’ve been working on this project for nearly a year, and it’s finally coming together. Stay tuned!
