Mayor’s Corner – March 2026

$1,000,000! Menands has officially been awarded $1 million for our South End Water and Sewer project from US Congressman Paul Tonko’s office to help continue the work underway there. This extra FEDERAL funding will help us fill the gap caused by recent cost increases. We have been waiting 2 years for this award! We are meeting with our contractors and engineers to determine how much more of the original South End project this funding will allow us to complete. We will likely now be able to complete some of the side streets off Hendrick, in addition to the main project on Wolfert, Amsterdam, and Hendrick. Amazing news! We thank Congressman Tonko!
