IMPORTANT ANNOUNCEMENT – CHANGES TO POLICE DISPATCH SYSTEM

  January 5, 2024

As of January 1, 2024 the Village of Menands has merged our local Police Dispatch Operations Center with the Albany County Sheriff Dispatch Center. We now join Cohoes, Green Island and Watervliet in utilizing the newly enhanced, multi-million-dollar, state of the art center Albany County has created. We have now created a seamless network for safety from Cohoes all the way into the City of Albany.

If you have an EMERGENCY – DIAL 911
To have a Menands officer dispatched to you – DIAL 911.

If you dial the old Menands PD phone number (non-emergency number) 518-463-1681 – you can
press “6” to reach the dispatch center.

Fire and EMS calls continue to be dispatched through the Town of Colonie. There is no change to this process, however, calling 911 gets you in touch with them quicker.

The Village Police Office and Village Court Office at 250 Broadway are staffed business days (excluding holidays) from 8am to 4pm.
