nextstep Meeting Minutes The regular semi-monthly meeting of the Board of Trustees of the Village of Menands, held on Monday, November 18th, 2019 was called to order by Deputy Mayor Aileen Nicoll at 6:00 P.M. PRESENT: Diane Foley, Trustee Seth H. Harris, Trustee Brian Marsh, Trustee Aileen Nicoll, Trustee Donald Handerhan, Village Clerk Stephen Rehfuss, Village Attorney ABSENT: Megan Grenier, Mayor Also attending: Bill Garvey, Susan Sweeney, John Stangle The Deputy Mayor led the Pledge of Allegiance. Open Forum: Resident Bill Garvey thanked the Board for reappointing Dianne MacFarland as Village Gardener. Bill advised the Board that the apartment building at 421 Broadway is still leaving their basement door open and he reported it to the Menands Police. Mr. Garvey reported there are two (2) signs down along the parking lot of the park. The Clerk advised Mr. Garvey that he would have DPW look as soon as possible. Mr. Garvey stated there are weeds near pole # 9 on Broadway north of the Pump Station. Resident Susan Sweeney asked if the Everbridge System can be integrated into the website so when an alert goes out it automatically shows on the website. The Clerk advised Mrs. Sweeney he was not sure if that could be done, but he would ask website if it is possible. John Stangle asked if the school is going to contribute towards the cost of Everbridge. Deputy Mayor Nicoll advised Mr. Stangle the Village is in talks with the school, but the contract needs to be signed before December. A motion was made by Trustee Harris to accept the minutes of the November 4th, 2019 Board Meeting, seconded by Trustee Marsh. The upgrades would include re-cabling, new computers, new server, cost $48,525.00 and $11,062.00 for the yearly subscriptions. Trustee Marsh made a motion to approve All equipment will be purchased under New York State Contract and for ABS Solutions to complete needed upgrades seconded by Trustee Foley. After a discussion the Board decided not to pay for a chaperone for the Ski Club. The Clerk gave the Board a reminder that the CP Rail Holiday Train will be stopping in Menands on Tuesday, November 26th between 4:15 and 4:45 P.M. they will be collecting food for Brightside Up. The Board was informed that the Senior Citizens Christmas Party will be Sunday, December 7th, 2019 from 1:00 P.M. to 3:30 P.M. at the Village Hall. At 6:25 P.M. Trustee Harris made a motion to enter into Executive Session to discuss a personnel matter, seconded by Trustee Marsh.
