Board Meeting Minutes – January 2nd, 2018

The regular semi-monthly meeting of the Board of Trustees of the Village of Menands, held on Tuesday, January 2nd, 2018 was called to order by Mayor Megan Grenier at 6:00 P.M.

Diane Foley, Trustee
Seth H. Harris, Trustee
Aileen Nicoll, Trustee
Donald Handerhan, Village Clerk
Stephen Rehfuss, Village Attorney
Paul Reuss, Exec Asst to Mayor
Also attending: Brian Marsh, John Stangle, Eric Johnson, James Buono.
The Mayor led the Pledge of Allegiance.
Open Forum:
James Buono spoke about changing all lights over to LED in village buildings, the benefits and cost. After a brief discussion it was decided to set up a meeting with the Village Clerk.
A motion was made by Trustee Nicoll, seconded by Trustee Boulet to accept the minutes of the December 18th, 2017 Board Meeting.

A motion was made by Trustee Nicoll, seconded by Trustee Foley to approve payment for the following:
WARRANT # 15:
GENERAL totaling $ 99,923.34
WATER totaling $ 7,986.13
SEWER totaling $ .00
TOTALS $107,909.47
PAYROLL # 15: totaling $96,603.38

A motion was made by Trustee Harris by Trustee Foley to approve the NYS Retirement Work Day Scheduled for elected officials.

The Clerk advised the Board he needed a resolution authorizing the Mayor to sign the 2017 – 2018 Agreement with the Town of Colonie for the use of the Town’s Police Range and Training Facility. After which Trustee Nicoll moved, seconded by Trustee Foley a resolution authorizing the Mayor to sign the agreement.

The Clerk reminded the Board of the 2018 Winter Legislative Meeting scheduled for Sunday, February 11th, 2018 to Tuesday, February 13th, 2018 at the Albany Marriott. If you are interested in attending let him know so the office can make reservations.
The Clerk reminded the Board the next meeting will be Tuesday, January 16th due to the Martin Luther King Holiday on Monday, January 15th, 2017.
Eric Johnson spoke about Grants the Village has received and not received. After a discussion Eric Johnson will compile a list of grants the Village has applied for and their status for next Board Meeting.
Trustee Boulet advised the Board that Menands CYO – Basketball Boys Biddy Team are the Champs of the 2017 Troy Holiday CYO Tournaments Champs games were played at Russell Sage College
A motion was made by Trustee Harris, seconded by Trustee Foley to adjourn.
