The regular semi-monthly meeting of the Board of Trustees of theVillageofMenands, held on May 7th, 2012 was called to order by Mayor Megan Grenier at 7:00 P.M.

The Mayor led the Pledge of Allegiance.
The Mayor along with Deputy Mayor Lansing interviewed several candidates for Acting Village Justice and were in agreement with Justice Proskin is appointing Robert A. Becker as Acting Village Justice. After which TrusteeLansingseconded by Trustee
Nicoll moved the following, resolved that the appointment by Mayor Grenier of Robert A. Becher as Acting Village Justice for the remaining official year is hereby approved.

The B & B Auto site plan revisions were presented by Scott Reese, representing B & B Auto at 50 Broadway. The Board reviewed the revisions and requested that B & B Auto’s engineer do an interior inspection of the structure, mechanical, electrical and plumbing systems and provide a detailed report to the Board. The Board also requested the elevation drawings that were previously requested. The Board requested a detail description of the business on the owner’s letterhead.
The Boswell Engineering pre application site plan conference was presented by Dominic Arico. The site at 35 Broadway is proposed to be similar to the previously approved plan. The new building will be two (2) stories with offices on the second floor and a light manufacturing company on the first floor. After a discussion and questions by the Board, the Board referred Boswell to Paul Reuss to continue the site plan process.
A motion was made by Trustee Lansing seconded by Trustee Mackay to accept the minutes of the April 16th, 2012 Board Meeting as amended.

The Treasurer reported that he received three (3) proposals for maintenance of the Village buildings heating systems.

Paul Cooney reviewed the request for a stop sign atFolmsbee Driveand Momrow Terrace with the Board. The Board requested Police Chief Michael O’Brien attend the next Board Meeting to discuss the issue.
Mayor Grenier led a discussion on reviewing and revising the Employee Handbook. Trustee Mackay stated that the Village may need a more indebt analysis of the handbook and should consider a RFP for professional services. Trustee Mackay and the Village Clerk will meet to discuss the scope of work.
Trustee Nicoll announced that several organizations in the Village will hold a breakfast fundraiser at the Fire Dept on Sunday, May 20th for the benefit of a child in the Village who was diagnoised with a serious illness.
A motion was made by Trustee Mackay seconded by Trustee Nicoll to adjourn.
